Lodging

Chobe Safari Lodge
Chobe Safari Lodge is situated in Kasane on the banks of the Chobe River, adjacent to the Chobe National Park. Right on its doorstep, four African countries meet, namely Botswana, Namibia, Zimbabwe and Zambia. Chobe Safari Lodge therefore offers an excellent getaway location to Chobe, Victoria Falls and Caprivi. Its close proximity to Victoria Falls International Airport, Livingstone International Airport and Kasane International Airport makes the lodge easily accessible, with daily road transfers and charter flights connecting all these airports with Chobe Safari Lodge. The lodge provides a magical lodge experience that adds to the spectacular game viewing on offer.

Accommodation options:

The newest additions to Chobe Safari Lodge are the 46 Safari Rooms, located in close proximity to the main complex. Individually decorated, they offer every comfort. Each safari room affords guests the luxury of air-conditioning, luxurious en-suite bath and shower facilities, as well as satellite TV, and telephone. The Safari rooms enjoy expansive lawns which form the banks of the Chobe River. Each room has got its own patio from where river views may be enjoyed in private.

The River Room Complex also has its own riverside garden where guests often take time to photograph the resident monkeys and mongoose. Both, upstairs and downstairs units, each enjoy their own private patios. The north east facing luxurious twin-bed river rooms are air-conditioned and offer the conveniences of phones, TVs and large en-suite bathrooms. Family rooms include two twin bedrooms. The wing of river rooms is attached to the main complex via a down stairs corridor and an upstairs viewing deck.

One of Chobe Safari Lodge's original accommodation types, the traditional thatched rondavels are independently positioned, with ceiling fans and en-suite bathrooms. These detached units are located close to the river in the lodge gardens, to the west of the main complex and a very short walk to the main complex.

Lodge Facilities & Activity Options:

The new Concept Restaurant features indigenous and rich flavours of Africa. A choice of English or Continental Breakfast is available as well as light lunches, a la carte or buffet style. Scrumptious buffet dinners offer a wide variety of meals from exotic game meats, roasts, barbecues, and stir-fries  to Indian cuisine and vegetarian dishes. Two bars leave guests to choose between the Sedudu Bar famous for most beautiful sunsets and the Cocktail Bar overlooking the Caprivi flood plains.
Alternatively, dine under the stars on board of the boats FishEagle II or Kingfisher II while cruising on the Chobe River between the shores of Botswana and Namibia. Turn your evening meal into an unforgettable experience and sip your wine while listening to hippos and other sounds of African nature.
Open-vehicle game drives within the Chobe National Park, depart from the lodge 3 times a day. Full & half-day game drives with a picnic lunch are also available. These outings offer opportunities to view Chobe's abundant elephant population and other big game species up close, and to encounter large predators.
Chobe River Cruises have to be one of the finest game viewing experiences in Africa. With over 80 000 elephants in the park alone they are very frequently sighted. Hippos, water birds, buffalos, crocodiles and pukus are also viewed from the river.
We offer full day trips to Victoria Falls - World Heritage Site, a Natural Wonder of the World, the largest curtain of falling water on the planet. Our guests may choose from a guided option, a day trip including activities or just transfers there and back.

  Camping
- near Kasane, inside Chobe N. P. -

Ihaha Campsite
Ihaha is the new and only camping site for private visitors within northern Chobe. Earthwork ramparts effectively surround the site, so one has to turn away from the river road and pass through the main camp office to get to the site. The ablutions here are a great improvement on Serondela's, consisting of two tall, whitewashed, thatched buildings, each with two showers, two toilets and several sinks for gents and ladies. The ablutions are clean and there is hot water and lights (solar power). Each camp has a barbeque stand, a refuse bin and the view is beautiful.
