Aabadi Mountain Camp
Aabadi Mountain Camp is located in the unspoiled Damaraland area, just about 20 kilometres away from Twyfelfontein. The rest camp is regularly visited by desert elephants, which pass by for a drink or bath in the permanent waterhole.
Aabadi Mountain Camp has 5 safari tents, a campsite for individual visitors and a group campsite. There is a small restaurant, a sundowner terrace with a spectacular view and a small souvenir shop.
The safari tents are built against the mountains and overlook the riverbed or the camp. Each tent has its own parking place and lies at quite a distance from the neighbouring tents. The restaurant is within walking distance.
The campsite is spacious and lies at the riverbed. Trees provide shadow and privacy. There is a bush shower with only ‘cold’ water (heated by the sun) and a flush toilet. Each campsite has its own fire place/barbeque facility for self-catering purposes.
Optional activities possible are: Walking safaris, Picnic in the bush, photographically walk, nature drives.

Bambatsi Guestfarm
Bambatsi is one of the oldest guest farms in Namibia. It is situated 400 km north of Windhoek and a 2-hour drive away from the Etosha National Park. The guest farm with its endless horizons, lies about 1234m high on a giant ridge, the natural geologic divide, between the central highland and the Namib desert. The farm house is built on a plateau that has an awe-inspiring view over the mopane landscape. This accounts for the wonderful climate of this area throughout the year and will inspire you to take walks through the surrounding mountains or the mopane forest, where you can observe indigenous game and birds. Enjoy a relaxing sundowner on the patio of your bungalow, at the pool or the bar, while being dazzled by spectacular and typical Namibian sunsets.
The comfortable bungalows are fitted with a double bed and some contain one or two single beds, electrical fittings, a shower and WC.
Bambatsi's convenient location allows undertaking day trips to the "Vingerklip", to Twyfelfontein or to the fossilised forest, and to return in the afternoon in time for some delicious home-baked cake and coffee/tea as well as game-drives in an open-air safari vehicle.

Camp Kipwe
Designed to creatively embrace some granite boulders, the camp embodies its Swahili meaning as it ‘blesses’ the mind, body and soul. Taking advantage of the nearby Aba Huab River and all consuming expansive landscape, Kipwe offers a refreshing perspective on traditional safari life. The camp is facing out onto superb scenery. Incorporating boulders, small red basalt rocks and mopane branches, it has a natural organic feel. The 8 rooms are round in shape, with large outside decks to admire the view. The outside, partially open bathrooms adjoining the bedrooms have boulder, cement and rock walls, and roofs of rough mopane branches. Hot water is supplied by wood-burning ‘donkey’ boilers.
Optional activities at the camp include nature drives with the possibility of seeing desert-adapted elephants in the dry season, Twyfelfontein excursions to see the rock engravings and guided walks with Kipwe’s experienced guides.

Camp Xaragu
This Camp has always been a dream of the late Danie. He loved Damaraland and declared it over 15 years ago his second homeland. All enthusiasm for nature and animals already showed large effect in the building phase. The lodge was mainly built from local materials as well as with local inhabitants of Damaraland. The management was aware of their ecological responsibility while building the camp and also in maintaining it.
Although initially planned to be much smaller, growing demand for an alternative to camping made Xaragu on completion consist of 10 Camp sites, 10 en-suite Safari Tents (large permanent tents with complete equipment) and 5 standard Tents (sharing the ablution facilities). At the main building you will find a bar, swimming pool, fish pond and many more. Children will be enthusiastic because of all our tame animals. Explore the surroundings on hikes or sundowner excursions.

Grootberg Lodge
Grootberg Lodge is a landmark in Namibia’s tourism industry as it is the first middle-market establishment in the country that is 100% owned by the conservancy. The European Union funded the project to develop the 12-room Lodge and at the same time, the private sector supplied the training and management skills until the community becomes self-sustainable.
Grootberg Lodge offers optional guided walks on the Plateau or to the Klipspringer Springs, Elephant or Rhino tracking, a Himba visit, riding and sundowner trips.

Hobatere Lodge
- closed until further notice, after extensive fire damage in early 2011

Hobatere Lodge is located 80 km north of Kamanjab on the western border of the Etosha National park, and is situated in a concession area of 32 000 ha which is home to a wide selection of game. The name Hobatere means, “find me” and once you do, you will be pleasantly surprised by the warm welcome and personalized service. Excellent bush cuisine is served on the verandah as well as “braais” at the boma. The Lodge offers a well stocked bar with a comprehensive wine list, a small curio shop, as well as a comfortable lounge with a small library. Hobatere Lodge has 14 rooms with en-suite facilities. The main building consists of a reading room, a bar and a restaurant where excellent bush cuisine is served. Activities at Hobatere include swimming in a pool, day and night game drives, a hide overlooking a waterhole, a sundeck with waterhole at the swimming pool and guided walks.
A rustic campsite is situated approximately 45 minutes’ drive away from the Lodge.
A rustic tree house situated away from the Lodge offers accommodation for the more adventurous. It overlooks a waterhole and consists of two beds as well as a table and two chairs. There are no shower facilities at the tree house and guests are provided with a chemical toilet and a hand washbasin. Shower facilities will be provided for guests at the Lodge.

Kavita Lion Lodge
A unique wilderness experience, warm hospitality and personal attention await you at Kavita Lion Lodge, situated on a game ranch in north-western Namibia.
Kavita Lion Lodge accommodates 16 guests in spacious, well-appointed en-suite bedrooms and thatched chalets, a sparkling pool and delicious meals served outdoors, with the sights and sounds of Africa close-by. Five of the thatched chalets overlooking a waterhole, offer guests comfort as well as privacy.
Kavita Lion Lodge is also home to the Afri-Leo Foundation founded by Tammy & Uwe Hoth (1997) on the farm Kaross. This 9000 ha game ranch borders on the south-western section of the Etosha National Park. For more than 40 years, lions have moved from the Park onto these neighbouring farms, killing domestic livestock (cattle, donkeys, horses, sheep and goats) as well as various antelope species. These incursions result in heavy financial losses for the farmers.
The Afri-Leo Foundation (ALF) is a registered, non-profit, Namibian organization, dedicated to the protection and conservation of the lions in Namibia and Africa (Panthera leo).

Mowani
Between the Ugab and Huab Rivers in Southern Damaraland lies a vast and unspoilt wilderness. This area boasts magnificent desert scenery, fascinating geological formations, archaeological sites and a unique variety of desert fauna and flora. It’s also the southern-most roaming ground for the rare black rhino and desert elephant. This is where you will find the Twyfelfontein Conservancy and the Mowani Mountain Camp. Mowani is taken from the word M’Wane, meaning “Place of God”, and it is here, that you will find the true meaning of peace and tranquillity.
Mowani Mountain Camp is characterized by its thatched dome-shaped structures which echo the shape of the granite boulders amongst which they are built. The feeling is one of a very upmarket African village. This lodge is one of the finest in the Damaraland Region. The main complex at Mowani consists of a reception, bar, dining room and a lounge which overlooks the waterhole. Accommodation is in 12 luxury East-African-style en-suite safari tents built unobtrusively, so as to ensure minimum impact on the natural environment. The tents are built on raised wooden platforms, each with its own private veranda and great views of the Aba-Huab Valley. The stilt-like supports of the tents ensure that very little excavation was needed in order to create this special oasis. Much care has been taken with the design of the public areas.
The Suite will be your ultimate retreat. Built high upon a rocky outcrop, the view from every room is spectacular. This luxury thatched suite comes complete with butler service and is tastefully furbished with a distinct African flavour. The private lounge is equipped with a music centre and satellite television, complimented by private dining and bar facilities. Whether relaxing in the folds of your crisp white bed, enjoying a romantic dinner under the stars or throwing caution to the wind in the open-air bush bathroom, you’ll be delighted by this unique bush experience.
Activities available at Mowani include guided nature drives in search of the elusive desert elephant and hiking through magnificent scenery. Join an excursion to explore the historical site of Twyfelfontein.

Palmwag Lodge
Palmwag Lodge is a paradise on the Uniab River in north-west Damaraland – a vacation opportunity with a difference. Waving palms whispering in the wind, spectacular surroundings which harbour the famous desert elephant, the rare black rhino, giraffe, zebra, gemsbok and many other wild animal species, sunsets to dream of – this is Palmwag Lodge, one of Namibia’s oldest and most popular tourist rendezvous. The lodge offers 30 beds in 2-3-bed thatched bungalows, and 10 beds in luxury en-suite tents, a fully licensed restaurant, swimming pool under shady palms, and a very cosy “pool bar” and lapa. The well-situated hiking trails let you enjoy and discover the neighbouring nature. With early booking, the lodge offers guided full day excursions as well as overnight safaris through the breathtaking landscapes of the Damaraland.

Rustig Toko
Rustig Toko Lodge, on the farm 'Rustig' close to Kamanjab, is situated in the north west of Namibia. The wide variety of bird species found on the farm gives Rustig Toko Lodge its name. Rustig Toko Lodge offers you 10 spacious and comfortable en suite double rooms. All rooms, which are individually decorated to suit your needs, offer a stunning view over the savanna and lush gardens from your own veranda. After a long, hot day, indulge yourself to a refreshing swim in the pool, from where you can watch our frolicking ostriches. Observe the small variety of animals that visit the floodlit waterhole, or just enjoy the magical ambience created by the vast natural backdrop of unique landscape. Following an adventurous day feel invited to join the management for a sundowner at the fireplace, where all will pamper their palate with typical African cuisine for supper and treat your taste buds to some of the finest South-African wines. End the evening under a starlit sky and listen to the sounds of the night.
The "Omumborombonga" campsite is named after the holy tree of the Herero people and offers you three separate camping sites with toilet facilities and hot showers. Dinner can be pre-booked at the lodge. Firewood is also available.

Twyfelfontein Country Lodge
The Twyfelfontein area, being a very vulnerable and delicate ecosystem, is renowned for some of the best examples of Bushman paintings and rock engravings in southern Africa and was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Lodge is situated in the heart of the Twyfelfontein Uibasen Conservancy and boast 56 en-suite double rooms, reception, lounge, curio shop, open dining room, bar and swimming pool. In construction utmost care was taken to reduce the visual impact on the environment and to blend into the mountainside with the use of thatch roofs, natural stone and paint colours toning in with the surrounding rock formations. Twyfelfontein Country Lodge is located approximately 100 km west of the small town of Khorixas.
Optional day excursions include nature drives, hiking and cycling, nature walks, and guided safaris into the surrounding wilderness areas.

Vingerklip Lodge
One of the most dramatic rock formations in Namibia is the 35m high pillar of rock, the Vingerklip or Finger of Stone. It stands proudly above a valley in the ancient landscape known as the Ugab Terraces. Nestling in this timeless valley is Vingerklip Lodge. A sheltered sundowner veranda affords breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside and the unmatched splendour of a Namibian sunset. Gourmet cuisine complemented by fine wines, and refreshing, locally brewed beer is served by the open fireplace in a spacious dining area.
22 well-appointed, thatched, double rooms in 11 units match the atmosphere of relaxation and tranquillity. For family-style holidays, 5 of the rooms offer loft accommodation for up to two children.
Other attractions in the area include: the Petrified Forest where some antediluvian flood deposited giant tree trunks are found. Twyfelfontein is unequalled for its abundance of rock engravings.

Ongava Game Reserve
Ongava Lodge
Ongava Game Reserve is situated along the southern boundary of Etosha National Park. The Ongava Game Reserve forms a buffer between Etosha National Park and the farms which enables large game such as elephant and lion to move in and out of the Park without entering hostile environments. Most general game has been reintroduced onto the property, including springbok, gemsbok, wildebeest, Burchell's zebra, Hartmann's mountain zebra, waterbuck, red hartebeest, giraffe, eland and the rare black-faced impala.
The most successful reintroduction project on the Reserve, however, is the white and black rhino project. A large boma on the property allows for careful reintroduction of the translocated rhino to the region and to the region's vegetation.
Ongava lodge offers 14 luxury en-suite chalets made of rock and thatch. There are impressive views from the main lounge, pub and dining areas, as they are situated close to the top of a hill, part of the foothills of the unpronounceable Ondundozananandana range. There is also an inviting pool to cool off in the heat of the day. Meals are either served in the main dining area under thatch with a view over the camp’s waterhole, or on the dining deck under the stars.
Ongava Tented Camp is Etosha’s best kept secret, tucked into a hidden valley at the foot of an anonymous hill in the privately owned 30 000-ha Ongava Game Reserve bordering the Etosha National Park. Optional activities at this comfortable camp typically begin in the main area with its tranquil bar and swimming pool fronting onto a much-frequented waterhole. The camp accommodates up to 18 exclusive guests in nine large Meru tents, all with en-suite facilities, open air showers and private verandas.
Activities: This complete Etosha experience in private luxury offers activities such as guided walks, bird watching, hides, night drives, great company and great food. A special encounter is white rhino tracking .

This model of eco-sensitive lodging provides an authentic, safe and down-to-earth experience for small groups, families and independent travellers to Etosha.
