Klein-Aus Vista
From affording grand vistas into the vast expanse of the desert, the four accommodation options at Klein-Aus Vista are an ideal starting point for excursions: to the Wild Horses of the Namib, to the diamond ghost town of Kolmanskop, into the most diverse desert on earth.
Located in the Aus Mountains at 1,400 meters above sea level, Desert Horse Inn affords grand vistas of mountain scenery and sweeping desert plains. It consists of 24 spacious and tastefully decorated en suite rooms. Relax with sundowners on the wooden deck before enjoying a 3-course meal in the restaurant. Exchange travel experiences and recommendations at the evocative Wild Horse Bar or at the cosy fireplace in the lounge.
Large old camel thorn trees greet camping guests at the Desert Horse Campsite in a small valley of the Aus Mountains. Each of the ten sites is equipped with a tap, table, grill and windbreak. Barbecue packs are available at the reception of Desert Horse Inn (1.5 km); those who like to skip cooking for a change are more than welcome at the Inn's restaurant (subject to space available, please enquire upon arrival).
Rustic Geisterschlucht Cabin nestles against massive granite boulders in a picturesque and sheltered valley of the Aus Mountains. It is ideally suited for families and groups. Only one party at a time will be put up there, regardless of the number of people, and will have the cabin all to itself. The cabin consists of 2 dormitories with 5 bunk beds each, two showers and two organic toilets. The communal kitchen and dining area is open plan; there is also an outside grill. Barbecue packs are available at the reception Desert Horse Inn(6 km). Guests are more than welcome at the Inn's restaurant, subject to space available.
Solitude, silence, space and magnificent sunsets - these are the characteristics of the atmosphere at Eagle's Nest Lodge. A 15 minutes' drive from the reception at the Desert Horse Inn, 8 chalets are nestled against a mountain slope and afford unique views of the boundlessness of the desert. Each of the natural rock chalets sits between massive granite boulders and contains a bathroom, kitchenette, fireplace and private veranda. Meals are served at the Desert Horse Inn restaurant. Take-away breakfast or barbecue packs are available on request.
Several hiking trails run through the valley; the Sundowner Trail leads to a lookout point where you can watch the sun disappear behind the distant horizon at the far end of vast desert plains. The Desert Horse Campsite is just 20 km away from the habitat of the Wild Horses.

Ideally located in the core of the D707 road, called the most scenic route in Namibia. Photography is the main activity on farm Kanaan, where the possibilities are endless with magnificent views of dunes and mountains. Quiver trees and camel-thorn trees dot the open desert landscape, where desert adapted animals, like oryx, springbok and ostrich roam freely. The farm borders on the Namib Naukluft Park by 35km, with an amazingly photogenic dune belt in the west of the farm and the Tiras Mountains in the east of the farm.
The old farm house of the host’s grandparents was transformed into a unique modern architecture guesthouse with only 4 double en suite bedrooms, decorated minimalist - like the desert surrounding it… Less becomes more…and more. Cañon Lodge
Tall weather-beaten granite boulders mark the location of the lodge and form an integral part of the overall design. Spaced evenly amongst these boulders are 26 thatched, wooden bungalows. All units are equipped with comfortable beds and en-suite bathrooms. The boulders, cool to the touch and smoothly rounded by an eternity of erosion, protrude into the rooms to make them blend in with the natural surroundings. The design of the bungalows was conceived with the idea to make you feel one with nature whilst enjoying a comfortable stay. Sometimes true luxury lies in simplicity.
An old farmhouse, originally built in 1908 by three Bavarian brothers, has been restored to serve as the Canon Lodge Restaurant. Its main attraction is an awe-inspiring view of the canyon landscape, which needless to say, makes a meal at the restaurant truly an experience not to be missed. Decorated with farming implements dating back to the previous century, and combined with the lively chatter of guests and staff alike, success is evident in the atmosphere that seems to linger amongst our visitors who enjoy our warm hospitality and traditional Namibian food.
Optional Activities offered are: Canyon visit, sundowner drive on the premises of the lodge.

Cañon Roadhouse
Due to its elaborate décor Cañon Roadhouse has acquired a sort of cult status in Namibia: the good old days of the automobile are celebrated in the theme restaurant and bar. Situated directly on the road to the Fish River Canyon, 14 km from the gate to the viewing points, Cañon Roadhouse offers 24 immaculate en-suite rooms, a swimming pool and a petrol station. For alfresco fans there are beautiful camping sites which allow for privacy. Enjoy a slice of our legendary Amarula cheesecake among coachwork arranged with loving care. The geology, flora, fauna and history of the area are explained on display boards at the Canyon Information Centre.
Optional Activities offered are: Canyon visit, sundowner drive on the premises of the lodge.

Cañon Village
The Cañon Village sits picturesquely at the foot of a sweeping rock face in Gondwana Cañon Park. The lodge consists of 21 comfortable chalets (42 rooms) in the Cape-Dutch style and a thatched restaurant of generous proportions is grouped together to form a little hamlet. A rural atmosphere also prevails in the restaurant building which sports a coffee shop and a rustic bar between massive granite boulders. The evening buffet consists of several meat dishes, fresh vegetables and a choice of salads. Meat and sausages, yoghurt and cheese, vegetables and fruit all come fresh from the Canyon Village self-sufficiency centre which runs a greenhouse, cheese dairy, butchery and smokehouse.
Namibian artists have adorned the walls of the restaurant and the chalets with murals depicting the daily life of the Bondelswart Nama, the original inhabitants of this area. On arrival, donkeys will welcome you and happily deliver your luggage to your chalet. And enjoy a break at the 'Pool with a View' – a view of the virtually endless plain of Gondwana Cañon Park.
Optional Activities offered are: Canyon visit, sundowner drive on the premises of the lodge.

Seeheim Hotel
If you are travelling to Lüderitz and you are looking for accommodation with a difference, the Seeheim Hotel is the answer! This small old-world stone hotel nestles in rustic splendour and the shade of ancient palms, (45km from Keetmanshoop just off the B2 to Lüderitz) and offers a refreshing change from the hustle and bustle of modern living.
Recently renovated, the hotel boasts all the comforts of quality hotel accommodation without losing any of its authentic qualities. After standing empty for 30 years, Zirkie Kloppers renovated the building and brought it back to life. The new Seeheim Hotel offers 16 en-suite single, double and family rooms, a dining and breakfast room (wholesome "boerekos" with the emphasis on game specialties), a swimming pool and outdoor recreational area with barbeque, a well stocked bar, TV (M-Net and DSTV), a shop with basic necessities and curios, and a petrol and diesel outlet.

Vogelstrausskluft Lodge
The Kalahari is not only the oldest, but thanks to its diversity, also one of the most beautiful deserts of the world. Situated alongside the upper part of the Fish River Canyon, at the edge of the Kalahari, the Vogelstrausskluft Lodge offers unique possibilities. With an area of more than 26,000 hectares the associated territory includes a wide variety of landscapes supporting diverse plant-life and providing a safe habitat for both small and large animals.
The rooms of the Vogelstrausskluft Lodge are decorated in Namibian style: Natural materials, earthen colours, unobtrusive patterns. All rooms are fully air conditioned, equipped with electricity, an en-suite bathroom as well as a small balcony, that invites to relay and enjoy the impressing surrounding. As a guest you have the choice between 20 spacious Comfort-Rooms with 2 single beds each, housed in 5 buildings with a thatched roof spread apart over the area, and 4 luxury suites, each housed in a separate building and equipped with 3 beds (one single and one double bed) and a living area.
The Vogelstrausskluft Campground is located directly at the »shores« of the dry pan. Sheltered on three sides by small hills and a red sand dune, the campground offers a spectacular view over the dried out lake to the north. Each of the four camp sites has an own large braai area, water and electricity and can accommodate up to 10 tents around a preset fire place. The small camping area is equipped with 8 hot water showers, 6 toilets, a thatched-roof bar and a place to do laundry and washing dishes. If you like breakfast, lunch and dinner can be served at the close by restaurant of the Vogelstrausskluft Lodge.
Optional activities offered by the lodge are; helicopter flights, nature- and gamedrives, Fish River Experiences and guided hikes.
