Bike Tours

Experience Namibia on the back of your off-road motor bike whose rental is part and parcel of these guided self-drive safaris.
A classic roundtrip from/to Windhoek entails: Driving off road via the Khomas Highlands to the Spitzkoppe Mountain, the "Matterhorn of Namibia", and continue west along adventurous gravel plains to the coast. Enjoy a little bit of luxury plus a day on a quad bike in the dunes before you travel along the coast to a Cape Seal colony further north. Enjoy a night under the stars in the Messum crater and continue to Namibia’s highest mountain, the Brandberg, and its rock painting the “White Lady”. After a drive on the lookout for the desert adapted elephant you continue to a game lodge close to civilisation where another game drive is on the menu. Return to Windhoek and for a last overnight.

Tougher cross-country motor bike tours and 4x4 trails are available on request.

Hiking Trails

Enjoy a 3-day/2-night hike in the company of an experienced guide through the Namib Rand desert region while learning more about life in the desert than you ever dreamt possible.

Learn how the desert and its flora and fauna is capable of surviving even though rain is very scarce. Experience sunsets that will tingle your toes right to the end. Enjoy the nights under the stars which you will experience nowhere else as you do here and listen to the sounds of the night so close by.
 

The Naukluft Mountains in the southern centre of Namibia are a paradise for hikers passionate about exploring the flora and fauna of very remote areas. Guided trails of varying durations and difficulties are on offer.
These hikes are seen as a vehicle of future development for the local environment and its inhabitants. The central theme, namely to preserve the natural environment for the future, will also be applied from a social and economic point of view, as well as in respect of the different cultures of the communities that live here. The endeavors are to further develop and sustain the Naukluft as a strongly attractive destination for future generations through meaningful cooperation with all the affected communities and by creating jobs for qualified people. Tourism should add value to the independent and active development of the area over the long term. Such development should also create new opportunities for its inhabitants.

Trekking in the Fish River Canyon ... imagine exploring the Fish River Canyon from as close as can be, hiking with just a daypack in almost pristine nature, dreaming at the campfire and falling asleep under a dazzling night sky... Adventurous and physically fit hiking enthusiasts can expect a unique and exciting experience in the wilderness area around the northern part of the Fish River Canyon. Since luggage and equipment are carried by mules, participants only need to pack water and snacks for the day’s hike - and their cameras. A qualified guide explains geology, flora and fauna, a mule driver takes care of the pack animals and a supply team is in charge of the camps. Meals are cooked on an open fire. Shower and toilet offer something out of the ordinary: a view into the great open wilds.

Unique Tours & Safaris offer this guided option as an alternative to the week-long hike down the entire length of the Fish River Canyon that is not only physically particularly demanding and only available unguided but also difficult to book due to seasonal and visitor number restrictions.
The above Trekking in the northern Fish River Canyon is just as interesting but more comfortable and safer, and especially far more manageable to the average person enjoying a good hike.
