Guided Cape - Namibia 4x4 Adventures

Cape - Namibia Explorer
13 Days/12 nights - Guided 4 x 4 safari from Cape Town to Windhoek

Departures: Scheduled, on the 1st day of each month, except Dec & Jan
On request, any date on request, subject to availability

Services included: English speaking driver-guide, transports in luxury air-conditioned four-wheel-drive vehicle, accommodation on a dinner/bed/breakfast basis except in Swakopmund, comprehensive sightseeing programme with park/entrance fees
Pre-/Post-tour Services are optional extras and available on request
Extension Options: 2 nights Windhoek & Namibia-Kalahari-Cape Discovery Safari

The tour explores the South African West Coast with its sea-bird colonies and picturesque villages as well as the most scenic parts of Namaqualand (with opportunities to experience the Namaqua wild flowers in bloom from late July to September), before entering the Ai-Ais/Richtersveld Transfrontier Park and crossing the Gariep (Orange) River at Sendelingsdrift into Namibia. The majestic Fish River Canyon, the Succulent Karoo, the Feral Horses of the Namib, and historic Lüderitz together with its neighbouring 'ghost town' of Kolmanskop are some of the highlights we experience en route to Namibia southern coast. From here the safari turns north and proceeds via the legendary Duwisib Castle across the every-changing landscapes of the Namib Desert, on the fringes of the Namib-Naukluft-Park. We visit the famous dune fields of the Namib around Sossusvlei, during a 2-night stay in fascinating desert surroundings, followed by two days spent in historic Swakopmund on the central Namibian coast where close encounters with the rich marine and desert life are on offer. Our safari is rounded off with experiences of the mysterious Erongo Mountains and their countless pre-historic rock art, before terminating upon arrival in Windhoek.

An alternative 13-day/12-night safari from Cape Town/to Windhoek is available for departure dates on request only. It is based on good budget accommodation and can be timed to connect to the scheduled departures of the Namibia-Kalahari-Cape Discovery from Windhoek/to Cape Town.

This tour follows a similar routing as the Cape-Namibia Explorer but has got a full-day tour into the South African part of the Richtersveld Transfrontier Park included. Furthermore, the programme on one day is kept completely flexible - should travel dates coincide with the Namaqualand Flower Season being in full swing, we will spend most of that day exploring the floral miracles; during the remainder of the year, we will leave for Namibia early enough to provide participants with an option to visit the Namibian part of the Richtersveld as well.

Namibia - Kalahari - Cape Discovery
9 Days/8 nights - Guided 4 x 4 safari from Windhoek to Cape Town

Departures: Scheduled, on the 15th day of each month, except Dec & Jan
On request, any date on request, subject to availability

Services included: English speaking driver-guide, transports in luxury air-conditioned four-wheel-drive vehicle, accommodation on a dinner/bed/breakfast basis, comprehensive sightseeing programme with park/entrance fees
Pre-/Post-tour Services are optional extras and available on request
Extension Options: 2 nights Cape Town & South Cape, De Hoop & Bontebok Parks

The Discovery safari takes participants straight into the Kalahari in eastern Namibia for first encounters with this unusual desert's rich wildlife, photogenic landscapes, and especially its extraordinary inhabitants, the San people. Further south, where the Kalahari reveals its fertility and beautiful parallel dune belts, we enter the domain of the famous black-maned Kalahari Lions that are outnumbered by their prey in their thousands - this is the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park, previously known as the Kalahari Gemsbok National Park. Having crossed the border into South Africa at the park's Mata Mata Gate. we dedicate three days to exploring the exceptional game populations and the natural beauty of the Kalahari, during leisurely drives along ancient river beds and across acacia-dotted plains. After leaving the Kgalagadi at its southern gate, the journey continues through the Northern Cape Province to the Augrabies Falls of the Gariep River and via the Great Karoo Basin to historic Calvinia, in eastern Namaqualand. During the July-September Namakwa Flower Season, this area is covered by carpets of wild flowers too. From Calvinia, a meandering scenic drive takes us through the Renosterveld with its fynbos-like vegetation to Clanwilliam at the foots of the Cedarberg Mountains where the famous Rooibos Tea is produced. And finally Cape Town, South Africa's Mother City and undoubtedly one of the world's most beautiful cities.
Our tour terminates upon arrival but if you pre-booked a few days' extension to enjoy the many sights of Cape Town and the Cape Peninsula, we will transfer you to the accommodation of your choice within the city boundaries.

In case you started your tour on Cape-Namibia wilderness routes with our Explorer Safari from Cape Town to Windhoek, this Discovery Safari will take you back to Cape Town by Day 23, which already includes 2 nights spent in Windhoek in between tours.

Various guided 4x4 safari options from/to Cape Town
are on offer with departure dates on request. These include:

7-day/6-night safari exploring the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park and the natural wonders in the centre of the Northern Cape Province (incl. Namakwa flowers in season)

A variety of short guided 4x4 tours in the Western Cape - from/to Cape Town - with departure dates on request, can be adapted to suit individual preferences.
The basic programmes each include 3 days/2 nights accommodation on a dinner/breakfast basis and cover the following area:

The West Coast from Cape Town to Lamberts Bay with its quaint villages, pelagic bird colonies and rich marine life & Lambertshoek, a traditional Buchu farm offering fascinating vistas from high up in the mountains that separate the West Coast from the fertile valley at the foot of Cederberg Mountains.

A multitude of impressions of the Western Cape Region between the Atlantic Ocean and the Cederberg Mountains including the Kagga Kamma Private Nature Reserve are the characteristics of this sightseeing-packed 3-day tour.
History, nature, the extreme and the mellow, traditions and ancient cultures next to modern science ... an uninterrupted succession of experiences that earned South Africa the by-line of "a world in one country".

This tour into the South Cape focuses on the amazing wildlife in the Bontebok Park near Swellendam and the De Hoop Nature Reserve on the coast. 260 bird species and 86 mammal species have been recorded in the De Hoop Nature Reserve, including the Southern Right Whale that regularly visits its shores in great numbers during the Southern African winter months.
