Heinitzburg Hotel is situated on “luxury hill” - only five minutes

small coastal town of Swakopmund, wedged between the desert and the
ocean and filled with historic sites, is your next stop en route

creatures of the allegedly lifeless desert. A marine cruise on the
Walvis Bay Lagoon is planed for the next morning. Close encounters
with Cape-fur seals, Benguela and Bottle-nose dolphins, and a large

game reserve situated on the border of the world famous Etosha
National Park, you might be able to see large herds of game
stampeding across the savannah.
After lunch, the first game drives are on the menu, in the Etosha
National Park or in the Ongava Game Reserve. Both will also be on
offer for the next day, as well as guided game walks on the reserve.
Ongava Lodge - Etosha National Park
Fullboard including activities
Kunene Region
Ongava Game Reserve is situated along the southern boundary of the
Etosha National Park. It forms a buffer zone between the park and
the farms to the south. This buffer enables large game such as
elephant and lion to move in and out of the park without entering
hostile environments. Most general game has been reintroduced onto
the property, including springbok, gemsbok, wildebeest, Burchell's
zebra, Hartmann's mountain zebra, waterbuck, red hartebeest,
giraffe, eland and the rare black-faced impala.
The most successful reintroduction project on the private reserve,
however, is the white and black rhino project. A large boma on the
property allows for careful reintroduction of the relocated rhino to
the region and its vegetation. At present, Ongava holds one of the
largest Namibian rhino custodianships for the Namibian government.
These custodianships are set up in safe havens throughout the
country in hopes of breeding rhino to more sustainable numbers and
reintroducing them into areas where they previously flourished.

Days 8 and 9 Etosha National Park -
AfriCat Foundation/Otjiwarongo Area
A short flight south that takes you back to Namibia's central
highlands touches down at the Okonjima Ranch, home of the AfriCat
Foundation. If you did not yet have close encounters with Africa's
big wild cats, this is about to change!
What started off decades ago as a sanctuary for relocated "problem"
cheetahs, today is home to a foundation dedicated to ensuring the
survival of all of Namibia's big cat species and to the research of
their habits and needs. Particularly noteworthy is the fact that
Namibia is the world's last country to have a significant wild
cheetah population and a diverse gene pool, which may assist in
breeding programmes for re-populating areas all over the globe,
where the cheetah already became extinct. You meet leopard, cheetah
and lion from close up, that is, if Matata and his mates intend
showing up while you are having your early morning snack, before you
depart from camp for your daily activities.
Okonjima Bush Camp - Otjiwarongo

Otjozondjupa Region
Okonjima lies nestled in the unspoilt beauty of the Omboroko
mountains, part of the well known Waterberg Plateau. In the Herero
language Okonjima means 'place of the baboons'. Okonjima is home to
the AfriCat Foundation, which is committed to researching and
rehabilitating Namibia’s threatened wild cat population. AfriCat is
known internationally, after featuring in an award-winning
documentary filmed for the Discovery Channel.
